Google is collaborating with various news organizations to enhance the effect of how tabular data appears in the search results. This will make it easy to look up for the data the users have been looking for in the search result tab altogether.
As per Google, this initiative was taken to ease the process of looking for data which has been made by a number of organizations. This will help them to appear in the search box in an easy to read format that will land on the results page of the company.
In current time, there is excessive data. As per a study conducted by Google News Lab, every newsroom has a specialized data journalist who helps in cracking all the data.
Tabular Search Results: Challenges
It may be tough for Google Search box to analyze the data that is present for the news agencies. If Google collaborates with the news agencies, it can help to ease up the process. Hence, Google has joined hands with several news agencies, including ProPublica. They will work towards implementing the ‘structured data’ which will ease its appearance in the Search Index of Google.
Google will not make any changes in the presentation. “News organisations add the structured data to their existing HTML of a page, which means that news organisations can still control how their tables are presented to readers”
The Deputy manager of ProPublica, Scott Kelvin said, “If we can make the data we’ve worked hard to collect and prepare available to people at the very moment when they’re researching a big life decision, and thereby help them make the best decision they can, it’s an absolute no-brainer for us. And the code is trivial to add.”
This time, Google is also including the journalism in implementing its field which indicates the movement in a good position.
