Ever since the announcement, the customers were very excited. Lenovo, the PC giant finally gave in the soothing effect to the customers by launching two news models to its most affordable L series of ThinkPad devices, ThinkPad L390 and ThinkPad L390 Yoga. The normal/regular version is priced at $659 whereas the updated version is priced for $889. The only new introduction to the models happen to be the Whiskey Lake Chips. Apart from these chips, everything seems to be quite similar to that of its previous models.
Whiskey Lake Chips: Different from Predecessors
The Lenovo ThinkPads support the 13.3 inch FHD display, dTPM 2.0 encryption support and fingerprint sensor. The updated version L390 Yoga has the Active Pen stylus with two updated camera features. It is being anticipated some similar additions will be made to the 14 and 15 inch L models. Although Lenovo has given out no official announcement, all these anticipations may come true in the coming time.
The 8th generation powered Whiskey Lake Chips distinguishes the latest models from that of its predecessors. As a result, the potential customers can expect a boost of Kraby Lake-R and has the extended support of Gigabit WiFi. The two laptops are actually quite advanced and better than the L380 and L380 Yoga models. The laptop runs in the 45 Wh batteries and with the ThinkPads you do get the extra battery life. The L390 Yoga model also allows the hinge to get twisted. This further ensures a complete 360-degrees turn thereby working as an efficient touchscreen tablet.
Whiskey Lake Chips: Lenovo’s ideas
Boasting of the features, Lenovo mentioned, “The ThinkPad portfolio has always offered a broad choice to give customers the specific device they need. The updated ThinkPad L390 and L390 Yoga are no different. Positioned with price-sensitive business customers and professional consumers in mind, the L series maintains the ThinkPad reputation for ruggedness and durability.” It further added, “Sitting below our ThinkPad X1 premium laptops and the mainstream corporate workhorse T and X series, the updated L390 and L390 are designed to provide end-users with mainstream performance and value.”
As far as the script is concerned, it is pretty much same to the previous models. The mundane computer announcements of the CES 2019 have been made to ensure the savvy move by the company. This will help the ThinkPad L series to be prominent even when new features are added.
