Director SS Rajamouli is a magician who is known to cast magic on the big screen and at the box office as well. This time with RRR was also not exceptional. RRR set fire at the box office worldwide and has destroyed the legacy that Bahubali had created. According to trade reports, RRR’s Hindi version has already crossed Baahubali’s lifetime business in just the first week, setting the bar too high for any other Bollywood movie to reach. It is an overwhelming achievement for RRR.
RRR Box Office Collection
Starring Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt, and Ajay Devgan, RRR has already become a new legend at the box office, defeating the collection of The Kashmir files and even The Batman. RRR set a new record of collecting Rs 500 crore at the box office worldwide in just three days. While Baahubali 2 managed to gross Rs 509 crore in that same time period. However, looking at the current pandemic situation, a Rs 500-crore opening weekend box office business is a big deal itself. It has become the fastest movie already to reach the Rs 100 crore club and is still on its way to creating new milestones for Bollywood movies.
The trade analyst Taran Adarsh talked about RRR (Hindi) and said that it has beaten the lifetime business of Baahubali in just its first week of opening. RRR will soon enter the Rs 200 crore club in its second week. Taran Adarsh shared a tweet on his account and wrote,
“#RRR feveRRR grips mass circuits… SupeRRRb hold… Will cross *lifetime biz* of #Rajamouli’s *first Blockbuster* #Baahubali [#Hindi] in *Week 1*… RRRacing towards Rs 200 cr… Fri 20.07 cr, Sat 24 cr, Sun 31.50 cr, Mon 17 cr, Tue 15.02 cr. Total: Rs 107.59 cr. #India biz. 9 (sic).”
On Tuesday, there was a small drop at the box office collection. But the RRR is making a riot at the box offices of Gujarat, UP, Bihar, Odisha, Rajasthan, CP Berar, and CI.
When Bahubali was released in 2017, the picture was quite the same. It collected more than Rs 100 crore on its very first opening day. Within 10 days, it reached over Rs 1000 crore worldwide. Bahubali 2 was also a huge success in making history. Although RRR will not have a sequel, unless the director wants it, it sure has left one big record for upcoming movies to break. You can see RRR in the theatres near you.
