American reality television series The Traitors is back for a second season. The show also has a British version of the same name and is produced by the same production company – Lambert House. The show is based on a Dutch series known as De Verraders.
The Traitors is hosted by well-known Scottish actor, Alan Cumming. The first season was released on Peacock on January 12, 2023.
What is the show Traitors About?
The show is filmed in the dreamy Ardross Castle, Scottish Highlands. A group of contestants compete with each other to win the prize money of $250,000. The participants are known as Faithful but among them are a few Traitors (their identity not revealed to the Faithful) who have especially been selected by the host. The Traitors are to eliminate the Faithful and win the cash prize. If the Faithful are able to eliminate all the Traitors, they can share the prize money. However, if even one of the Traitor’s make it to the end, they steal the money for themselves.
The Traitors come together on certain nights and target a Faithful contestant to ‘murder’ and that Faithful has to leave the game. The Faithful only come to know about the elimination the next day when their fellow player doesn’t make it to the breakfast table. The participants are given various missions that allow them to add money to the prize fund. In some challenges, players are given an opportunity to gain immunity from being ‘murdered’. The gameplay continues till only a certain number of participants survive and a final decision is taken.
