As the name suggests, The Mother is a story about a professional assassin (Jennifer Lopez) who has been living in the hiding for the last few years, trying to make a calm life. She has left behind her daughter along with her old life, all for her safety. Despite all the precautions, at the bottom of her heart, she knows that one day, something is bound to happen. The question is- will it be her first, or her daughter?
As it unravels, she learns that her daughter’s life is put at risk, and now the stakes are higher than ever before which forces her to come out of the years of hibernation and save the daughter from her enemies, putting her extreme assassin skills back in the business!

When is The Mother Coming on Netflix?
Netflix officially announced the film in February 2021, and although the film went on floors in October of the same year. With everything going smoothly in Gran Canaria, a small island in Spain, the entire production of the film came to a standstill due to a COVID outbreak within the film crew.
The filming of The Mother could only resume in March 2022 and the final wrap happened the same month. All of this delay because of the COVID outbreak, Netflix had to push the release of the Jennifer Lopez starrer thriller.
All’s Well That Ends Well, the movie is finally premiering on Netflix globally on the 12th of May this year.
Who is Starring in The Mother on Netflix?
Watching the teaser of The Mother, who can say that JLo has turned 53? Ooof! JLo is coming back to the genre after quite some time. Along the side of Jennifer Lopez, who is playing the lead in the action thriller, we are set to see Joseph Fiennes (The Handmaid’s Tales, Hercules- 2014) as the antagonist in the movie.
Paul Raci (The Sound of Metal) along with Gael García Bernal (Amores Perros) and Omari Hardwick (Shot Caller-2017) will be returning to screens. Lucy Paez, the Mexican actress from “The Exorcism of Carmen Farias” (2021) will be playing the role of Jennifer Lopez’s daughter in the movie.

Who are the Creators of The Mother?
The Oscar-nominated writer of Top Gun: Maverick and the Batman, Peter Graig has written the action-packed thriller. Misha Green, on whose story the film is based was part of the screenwriting team along with Andrea Berloff.
