Fans have been waiting for the second season of Shadow and Bone for a long time, and finally, it is here. The second season of this fictional series came on air on 16th March 2023 on Netflix. The first season was a great success, and it is one of the series that come under Netflix’s choice. The story of this series is based on best-selling books by Leigh Bardugo. The story revolves around the life of Alina Starkov, the main protagonist who is a sun summoner. She is one of those people who have supernatural powers, called Grisha. She is the rarest of her kind and needs to fight against the most powerful Grisha, who is called Darkling, general Kirigan. General Kirigan is the creator of the fold, the shadow that has the capability of ruining the world with its darkness and the creatures that live there, Volcras.

After the first season, Kirigan has become more powerful and Alina is the only hope for the world, as only she can destroy the fold and save the world from the darkness with her light. A group of three thieves also join the storyline as an inseparable part who takes the side of the protagonist in her journey while solving their own chaos.

Alina is the sun summoner who can destroy the fold with her light. She is the rarest Grisha. General Kirigan wants her by his side, but Alina understands that all the Darkling wants is her power, and she manages to run away from him. Now, Alina must destroy the fold to clear her name and take down Kirigin to save the world from his darkness.
- Ben Barnes playing as Aleksander General Kirigan
He is the main antagonist of this show who is the creator of the fold and the most powerful Grisha. He is the complete opposite of Alina as he is the king of darkness who has become more powerful with the dark army with him in the second season. Aleksander wants Alina to join him and control her power. To win the war, he must make the fold even more powerful and stop Alina from destroying it.
- Archie Renaux playing as Mal Oretsev
Alina’s long-time best friend who is very protective of Alina and wants to be with her in every situation. Mal is not only her lover but also the biggest support in her journey to destroy the fold.
- Freddy Carter playing as Kaz Brekker
He is the leader of the crow gang ( The gang of thieves) who decides to help Alina in her journey. Kaz is very energetic and also deals with his personal fights and scandals.
- Amita Suman playing as Inej Ghafa
A wonderful and energetic character who is rescued by Kaz Brekker from a human trafficking network and joins the crow gang. She is an amazing fighter who stays side-by-side with Kaz.
- Kit Young playing as Jesper Fahey
An excellent sharp-shooter who is also a friend of Kaz and works for the crow gang. He has supernatural powers and also intends to support Alina.
- Danielle Galligan playing as Nina Zenik
She has an amazing ability to control a person’s body on a molecular level, called a HeartRender. After the first season, where she was recruited by the second army, the army of Kirigan, now she is a new member of the crow gang. She wants to free her lover from behind the bars and fight against the fold by taking the side of Alina.
