The younger sister of quick-witted detective Sherlock Holmes, Enola, instantly bursts into action with her new detective business in Enola Holmes 2, which debuted on the streaming giant Netflix on November 4. Enola takes on her first case, a search for a missing teenager who vanished after being suspected of stealing.
Fans are already speculating whether there will be a third installment in the Enola Holmes franchise after Enola Holmes 2 debuted as the top film in the United States during its opening week.
The Enola Holmes 2 was the most-watched title on Netflix throughout its first weekend, with 64.1 million hours of viewing.
Here is everything you need to know about a potential Enola Holmes 3.
The Potential Release Date of Enola Holmes 3
Enola Holmes 3 hasn’t been confirmed by Netflix yet, but considering the success of Enola Holmes 2, we expect it to happen soon.
The first movie in the Enola Holmes franchise was released in September 2020, and the second part was released in November 2022. The third film in the franchise is expected to release in September 2024.
Enola Holmes 3 may get postponed as the main cast Brown, and Cavill will be busy with Stranger Things season 5 and Superman movie respectively.
The Cast of Enola Holmes 3
Without Millie Bobby Brown playing the title role, it wouldn’t be an Enola Holmes film, and because Brown also produces the series, she’ll undoubtedly return to the case if a third film is made.
We don’t yet have a confirmed cast list, but here is the list of cast members we are expecting to return for a third Enola Holmes film:
- Millie Bobby Brown as Enola Holmes
- Henry Cavill as Sherlock Holmes
- Louis Partridge as Viscount Tewkesbury
- Helena Bonham Carter as Eudoria Holmes
- Adeel Akhtar as Lestrade
- Susan Wokoma as Edith
- Himesh Patel as Dr. John Watson
- Sharon Duncan-Brewster as Moriarty
The Plot of Enola Holmes 3
Enola Holmes 2 wraps up the primary mystery similarly to the first film and doesn’t really leave us on a significant cliff-hanger to tease the third film.
We see that Moriarty has escaped from prison in the final scenes of the movie, so we can be sure that she’ll return to cause mayhem in the third part. Enola and Sherlock will now have Dr. John Watson’s assistance for any upcoming mysteries.
The third novel in the Enola Holmes series, “The Case of the Bizarre Bouquets,” can also be seen as a source of inspiration for the film. Can Enola solve her most recent case and track down a missing Dr. John Watson before her well-known older brother, Sherlock? asks the book synopsis.
These graphic novel versions of Nancy Springer’s mystery series carry on the adventures. Enola continues to remain hidden from Sherlock and Mycroft, who wish to enroll her in a boarding school as a result of their mother’s absence.
