Journey Of Neha Kakkar From Jagratas to Indian Idol
Neha Kakkar began singing at the age of 4 at Jagratas. Although she did not come from a wealthy background, her unstoppable passion and love for singing led her toward success.
Neha Kakkar neither received classical training nor had a mentor to help her on her singing path. But she never allowed anything to hinder her attempts because of her talent, dedication, and skills. She learned to sing independently, and through talent and subsequent experience, she has improved her skill. Her brothers Sonu and Tony Kakkar also served as inspirations for her.
Her consistent efforts helped her to get selected and compete in the 2006 Indian Idol.

Neha got her big break on Indian Idol. In the show’s second season, she participated as a participant. Her abilities and dedication were recognized throughout India. Being one of the contestants, she was quite young and given a chance she needed.
In 2008, she released her debut record, Neha the Rockstar. In the same year, she made her Bollywood debut by lending her voice to the songs for the movie Meerabai Not Out. She joined the chorus of the Blue theme song, which was written by none other than A.R. Rahman, the very next year.
Neha has also performed for local music organizations. Her performance in the Kannada movie Thamassu earned her a nomination for “Best Female Playback Singer” at the prestigious Filmfare Awards South.
