Karthikeya 2 is originally a Telugu mythological drama that has also been released in Hindi. The movie was released on August 13 and has been doing equally well in regions other than the South. Nikkhil Siddhartha is the lead actor of this movie which already has a prequel, ‘Karthikeya’, which was released in 2014.
Karthikeya 2 (Hindi) Box Office Collection
The movie amassed Rs. 1.45 crore (Hindi) in the first three days of its release witnessing a 300% growth on August 15. The collection on the first day of release was Rs. 7 lakhs, Rs. 28 lakhs on the second day, and this amount shot to Rs. 1.10 crore on the third day. The fourth-day collections have been approximated up to Rs. 1.50 crore. The movie budget is Rs. 30 crore, which is likely to be achieved soon. It has become the highest-grossing movie in the career of Nikhil Siddhartha.
‘Karthikeya 2’ has been written and directed by Chandoo Mondeti. The leading cast of the movie includes Nikhil Siddhartha as Dr. Karthikeya Kumaraswamy, Anupama Parameswaran in the role of Mugdha, veteran Anupam Kher as Dhavanthri, Srinivasa Reddy as Sadananda, Harsha Chemudu as Suleman and Adithya Menon as Santanu.
Karthikeya 2 (Hindi) Plot
The movie has an entirely different plot and is not in any way connected to its prequel. Karthikeya is a doctor who likes to take peculiar cases. The movie begins with an animation to set its premise revealing how people are after the anklet of Lord Krishna, and Karthikeya is also looking for the ornament.
The makers have tried to script an adventurous theme mixed with mythology which somehow gives the feel of playing the kids’ game of treasure hunt. The endless search for clues at times will cause you to lose interest. However, the second half of the movie offers several appealing visuals along with an interesting addition of ‘Abhira Tribe’. It was also nice to see the movie stick to the genre as there was no other track between the hero and the heroine.
The ‘Kaala Bhairava’ music in the movie is stunning! Nikhil has done an applaudable job and takes the cake. Anupama Parameswaran did well, but she didn’t have much to enact. Snippets of comedy provided by Srinivasa Reddy came as a relief, while Anupam Kher’s acting can be termed to be terrific!
