Last Thursday, ABC revealed which cast members would return to Season 19 of Grey’s Anatomy. The date for the show’s telecast has already been made public – October 6, 2022.
Ellen Pompeo will return in her famous role as Dr. Meredith Grey but will be seen only in eight episodes of the season. Pompeo will also be the executive producer for the complete season.
After a guest appearance in Season 14 of this long-running medical drama, Dr. Nick Marsh, played by Scott Speedman, was seen returning in Season 18 and will now have a recurring status. Since Dr. Marsh plays the role of Dr. Grey’s love interest in this series, fans can expect some romance between the two for some closure before the last season.
Dr. Cormac Haynes, played by actor Richard Flood will no longer be seen in this season of Grey’s Anatomy. The Irish actor was a part of the series from 2019 to 2022. He left the show earlier this year and will not be returning.
Some other regulars who will be seen in Grey’s Anatomy are,
- James Pickens Jr.
- Chandra Wilson
- Camilla Luddington
- Kelly McCreary
- Kevin McKidd
- Chris Carmack
- Kim Raver
- Caterina Scorsone
- Anthony Hill
- Jake Borelli
Several new surgical residents will be joining the Grey’s Anatomy, and we are yet to find out who they will be.
In one of her interviews, Ellen Pompeo had already revealed that the show would continue without Meredith in it. She also said that it was a challenge to reinvent the show, it speaks to the people, and the young love Grey’s Anatomy.
