In an interview, Michelle King stated, “The reason for calling off the show is just to maintain the quality issue. We don’t want to stretch the story unnecessarily. Season 6 is very much about the civil war in our country, and it felt like it was the story to tell in the last season of this show.”

Diane (Christine Baranski) is made a named partner at the firm, which she renames Lockhart, Deckler, Gussman, Lee, Lyman, Gilbert-Lurie, Celebrating, & Stebbins, in an effort to keep Robert’s legacy alive. In the episode, Diane must deal with the fallout from her decision to run for office, while Lucca represents a new client with ties to the White House.

The Good Fight Season 6 will see the return of several fan-favorite characters, including Kurt McVeigh (Gary Cole), who will guest star in the season premiere. Additionally, Michael Boatman will return as a series regular after appearing in a recurring role in Season 5.
