Aishwarya Rai is all set to make her comeback to the big screen with a Tamil film directed by Mani Ratnam, Ponniyin Selvan. The movie is a huge budget movie with a grand starcast.

Ponniyin Selvan Storyline

Before jumping to the grand starcast of the movie, it is necessary to note the story too. Ponniyin Selvan is an adaptation of the 1955 legendary book by Kalki Krishnamurthy going by the same name depicting the story of the early days of Arulmozhivarman. The story is of the great emperor of the Chola dynasty, Rajaraja Chola I.

The Controversy

Although it’s not a big controversy, recently, the pictures of Aishwarya from the set of Ponniyin Selvan were leaked online. Aishwarya is supposed to be playing a double role in the movie, Nandini, the protagonist and her blind mother, Mandakini Devi. The makers have however decided to take strict action against all the handles that have shared the picture of Aishwarya from the sets of Ponniyin Selvan.

The movie is all set to be released on September 30, 2022 in theaters in 5 different languages including, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. The music is composed by AR Rahman and the first trailer came out on September 6, 2022 which starts with Kamal Haasan’s voice over.
