This is surely one of the fastest exams to be held. Within 21 days of holding the examination, the Karnataka Examinations Authority decided to declare the result of the Common Entrance Test (KCET) online today. Around 1.53 lakh students have qualified for the test to get an engineering seat. And the students qualified in different categories and the ones in which they got qualified include,
The exams were held on 30 and 31 July respectively. Furthermore, the result was declared online on their website kea.kar.nic.in. While 1.53 qualified for the test, 1.75 lakh students had appeared for the seat.
Due to the pandemic breakout, it will be impossible to hold the counseling procedure offline. Hence, Deputy Chief Minister C.N Ashwathnarayan said that the counseling procedure would be held online. Talking about the counseling session, the officials said, “While the ratio 45:30:25 ratio will be continued, the government’s share will be 45 per cent, COMED-K and NRI/Management quota will share 30 and 25 per cent respectively.”
One of the most surprising parts of the test is that many students scored full marks around various subjects. As per the reports, around 80 students scored a full mark of 60 in Biology; three students scored full in Chemistry. But, none were able to get full marks in Physics and Maths.
The officials have clarified that the exams were held while maintaining social distancing. For KCET exams, a total of 127 centers were set up and the students had complete flexibility to choose the exam center.
As far as the districts’ results are concerned, Kodagu held the first place with a pass percentage of 94.73 percent, while Vijaypura remained at the back with a pass percentage of 82.98 percent.
The document verification date begins from 2nd September. The ones securing rank from 1 to 2000 will have to apply for document verification from September 2 to 3. Then from the next ranks to rank 7000, the document verification will be held on 4 September to 6 September.
On 27 September, the document verification will be held on 27 September. The exam results were to be announced on 20 August but had to be postponed due to “technical” reasons.
The entire document verification process will be held online.
Karnataka DY CM said, “Two candidates who were asymptomatic and Covid-19 positive have bagged good marks – Rank 214, and Rank 615.”
Around 63 candidates were recorded to be Covid-19 positive and they had to take the exam on July 30 and 31, respectively.
According to the officials, “Transparency will be maintained in the entire process and this time CET counseling will be conducted after the NEET and JEE counseling.”
Talking of the result declaration, Ashwathnarayan said, “These will be given back to the colleges within 24 hours of duration, making the process faster and easier for students.”
The results were announced today at 12:30 pm.
