Jurassic World: Dominion, an American science fiction adventure film directed by Colin Trevorrow. The film is the sequel to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) and the sixth installment in the Jurassic Park franchise.

The movie was released on 10th June 2022 and had mixed reviews from critics and the audience.

With this, the Jurassic cinematic universe ends, and the final chapter marks the giant dinosaurs Giganotosaurus. It looks like this chapter of the final trilogy will be the biggest Jurassic Park movie ever. Here we have penned down from the box office collection to the plot of the Jurassic Dominion. Keep scrolling!

Box Office Collection of Jurassic World Dominion

The movie has a grand opening in the Indian markets collecting around Rs 8 Crore on the first day. In the international market, the movie is doing well and collected around $18 million, i.e., Rs 140 crore approx. on Thursday previews and is buzzed to make $125 million in opening weekends.

Well, the movie would not cross the box office collection of its earlier two Jurassic World movies. The first film made $1.6 billion worldwide, while the second Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, made $1.3 billion worldwide. The movie also got a released window in China and can be the highest-grossing Hollywood movie in China after Batman, which debuted in March.

Jurassic World: Dominion is set to be one of the highest-grossing films of 2022. The film is estimated to gross over $1 billion at the worldwide box office.

Jurassic World Dominion Cast

The film stars

  • Chris Pratt (Owen Grady)
  • Bryce Dallas Howard (Clarie Dearing)
  • Sam Neill (paleobotanist Dr. Ellie Sattler)
  • Jeff Goldblum (mathematician and chaos theorist Ian Malcolm)

Plot and Review of Jurassic World Dominion

The plot revolves around the dinosaurs being released into the world and the conflict that ensues. The film opens with Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard), park operations manager of Jurassic World and now turned into the head of the activist Dinosaur Protection Group, breaking into a ranch where baby plant-eaters are being kept. He is seen deciding to rescue one of them.

Afterward, she retreats to a cabin in the secluded Sierra Nevada Mountains with Maisie and Owen Grady, who was the park’s former raptor-whisperer. The three quickly develop a makeshift family bond centered on protecting Maisie from those who would exploit her for financial and genetic gain. Blue, a semi-domesticated raptor, lives with them as well and has a child, a sexually reproducing and mirroring Maisie’s relationship to her mother’s genetic material.

Although “Jurassic World: Dominion” has some impressive action sequences, nothing comes close to the unforgettable T-Rex attack from the original “Jurassic Park,” or any of the other great scenes from that film or its Spielberg-directed sequel, “The Lost World.”

Trending now: Westworld Season 4

“Dominion” original cast members Goldblum, Sam Neill, and Laura Dern reprise their roles alongside each other. Goldblum’s performance in “Lost World” is turned into a wry-yet-cranky meta-commentary on corporate capitalism.

The new film is not as good as the best parts of the previous three films. “Fallen Kingdom,” Bayona’s mixed-bag that provides both literal and figurative DNA to the plot of “Dominion,” had the most surprising pivots since the original.

This conjures Spielbergian images of wonder (think of that mournful shot of the brachiosaur left behind on the dock) and mixes gothic horror and haunted house-movie elements into its second half. As one of many major characters, Maisie’s tragic predicament appropriately has a few disturbing new details added to it.

However, returning franchise director/co-writer Colin Trevorrow and his collaborators cannot focus long enough on their deeper implications to develop Maisie with the sophistication required for a great or even good science fiction/horror film.

The mishandling of Maisie is one misstep in a sequel that piles ideas and images and characters and plot twists in a heap and calls it a movie. The film has received mixed reviews from critics. However, the majority of praise has been directed towards the film’s visual effects.

The movie has been praised for its thrilling action sequences, heart-pounding suspense, and stunning visuals.
