Indian Idol has been one of the top singing reality shows airing on Sony TV. On Thursday evening, Sony TV uploaded a brand new promo of the upcoming episode on their official Instagram account. In the video, we could see Amit appearing on the show’s sets.
After Bidipta sings one of Kishore da’s legendary songs, Amit comes to the stage and tunes two lines of his song Keh Do Ki Tum from Tezaab along with her.
He also appeared in the last season as a special guest. Later he shared his experience with the media that he was said to praise individual contestants regardless of how they performed. But many fans criticized the performance of the contestants saying they have ruined Kishore da’s songs. In an interview, when asking Amit Kumar about such a reaction from the netizens, he said,
“I did what I was told. I was told sabko praise kamana hai. I was told jo jaisa bhi gaaye usko uplift karna hai because it’s a tribute to Kishore da. I thought it would be a homage to my father. But once there, I just followed what I was asked to do. I had told them to give me portions of the script in advance, but nothing of that sort happened, ”
He appeared as a special guest in the last season on Kishore Kumar’s special episode as well. This time too, he’s coming back for Kishore Da’s special episode. He will also perform a duet with one of the season 13 contestants. Amit Kumar is the son of Indian music legend Kishore Kumar. He had given his voice in many hit songs between the 1970s and 90s before leaving the industry.
