Dune Part II Release Date, Cast and Expected Plot – Everything we Know so Far

The crowd went crazy, calling Dune the best sci-fi movie of the decade. The tickets counters were flooded with enthusiasm when the movie was first released in October 2021, making Director Denis Villeneuve ponder over a sequel of Dune.

In an interview with Newsweek,” Villeneuve stated that it was not easy to put an 800-page novel story in one 2 hours long movie, so I decided to break it into two parts, keeping the audience on edge to make anticipation and wait for the second part”.

Who will be seen in Dune Part II?

Fans could expect the following cast member to appear in Dune Part II.

Several big characters will be out of the show, for instance, Duke Leto, Jason Momoa’s Duncan Idaho, and Sharon Duncan-Brewster’s Dr. Liet-Kynes.  

Don’t be disappointed. Villeneuve has some more characters to introduce in Dune Part II, including Baron’s nephew Feyd-Rautha (Austin Butler) and the sinister Emperor Shaddam IV Corrino (Florence Pugh).

When will Dune Part II be Released?

It is likely to be released in cinemas on 20^th October 2023. Well, there is a sad news for those who love watching their favorite movie sitting on the couch of their bedroom and hate watching movies in cinemas. The film will stream online only after 45 days of exclusivity window in the US for theaters.

The first part was made available to stream in the US on HBO Max on the same day as its theatrical release.

What could be the Expected Plot for Dune Part II?

Dune Part I ended on a high note and created a lot of room for Part II. Part I ended with Paul officially joining the Fremen. Paul and his mother, Lady Jessica, travel with Fremen to their home city. While their travel, Paul figures out one Fremen member riding a sandworm. It might be Chalamet riding a sandworm, and the story will begin from here in Part II.

Fans could expect Paul’s rising to power among Fremen and turn into rebellion against Emperor Shaddam IV. Additionally, new entries will include Princess Irulan, the Emperor’s eldest teen daughter, and Paul’s wife. Part I left the biggest twist, including Laddy Jessica and late Duke Leto’s daughter Alia Atreides. There are many spoilers and shocks hidden for Dune fans in Part II.
