Billions Season 7: What We Know So Far About the Plot and Cast

After the Season 6 of Billions ended dramatically, the audience is anxiously waiting for the next season. This American drama television series airs on Showtime and can be streamed on Paramount+. Billions is a creation of Brian Koppelman, David Levien, and Andrew Ross Sorkin. It is also the first North American television series to have a non-binary actor in their cast – Asia Kate Dillon playing the character of Taylor Mason. 

When Will Season 7 of Billions be Released?

Season 6 of the series first premiered on January 23, 2022, and ended in April of the same year. The 6^th Season of Billions was still in progress when the show was renewed for the next installment. The filming of Season 7 began in November 2022 in New York. Considering the flow in which all the previous Seasons of this show were released (except season 5), the audience can expect Season 7 to premiere in the first quarter of 2023, between January and March. 

The Cast of Season 7 Billions

The lead character of the show Damian Lewis who plays Bobby Axelrod, a hedge fund manager in the series, left after the 5^th Season, and will be seen returning for the 7^th Season. Lewis had lost his wife, Helen McCroy, earlier that year, and he had filmed some of the final episodes remotely from his home. Stars Paul Giamatti will reprise his role as Chuck or Charles Rhoades Jr.; Maggie Siff will once again play Wendy Rhoades, Malin Akerman will continue playing her role as Lara Aelrod, Asia Kate Dillon will reprise the part of Taylor Mason, and David Constabile will be Wags or Mike Wagner. 

Billions have a huge cast with more than 70 episodes in the past six seasons, and the makers seem to keep adding new faces. We are yet to learn about any new faces in this Season.

Plot of Season 7 Billions

The final episode of Season 6 – “Cold Storage” saw Chuck break into one of the black boxes of Prince and expose his wealth of cryptocurrency that was untaxed. This ruined his presidential run. But Rhoades was arrested for having used a fake warrant to access this evidence. The other remaining drives of prince were also seized, but no one could access them as the code was impregnable. Prince managed to get away with tax fraud but lost $3.5 billion!

Season 7 will take up the story from here – Prince has lost his reputation as a good billionaire, Dave has busted Chuck out of the jail and since Damian Lewis is making his way back to Season 7 we are likely going to find Axelrod in Switzerland (as he left in Season 5 after entering into a self-imposed exile).
