Unstable: A New Comedy Series on Father-Son Relationship on Netflix

Netflix is about to release a comedy series ‘Unstable’ starring Rob Lowe and his son John Owen Lowe. The father-son duo also happens to be the executive producers for the show, along with well-known American television writer and producer Victor Fresco. Netflix is taking care of the production. Even though the series is about to premiere soon, we are yet to learn about the director of this series. 

What’s the Production Status of Unstable?

The filming for Unstable began last year in June 2022. The series was shot in Los Angeles, California.

The production was expected to complete in September 2022. Instead, things were completed a bit early, and the team of Unstable was able to wrap up the production in August 2022. 

The production of the show was done with a budget of $8 to $16 million.

What is the Plot of Unstable?

The story of Unstable is about a successful man Ellis Dragon who owns a biotech research company. Ellis is, however, narcissistic and eccentric but kind, quite the opposite of his son Jackson Dragon, who is shy and doesn’t like to mingle socially. He struggles to keep up with his father’s popularity. Despite the difference in their nature, Jackson joins his father’s company to be around him and support him so he can cope with his wife’s death. Jackson is the only one who can help his father regain his focus. 

Is there a Trailer for Unstable Available?

Netflix released the full trailer for Unstable on March 2. The new footage also includes a first look at Fred Armisen, who plays the role of Leslie, Ellis’s therapist. You can watch the trailer here.

This is not the first series in which John and Rob have been cast together. They were also seen together in ‘The Grinder’ and a Netflix movie released in 2019 – ‘Holiday in the Wild’.

Unstable has been scheduled for release on March 30, 2023, on Netflix. Season 1 comprises 8 episodes of 30 minutes each. All the episodes will be available to the audience to stream on the same day of its release.
