Netflix has a new show for the audience – a game of money, trust, greed, secrets, and more. The Trust: A Game of Greed. The show premiered on the OTT platform on January 10, 2024. The first four episodes were dropped on the day it first premiered, and the remaining episodes were released in the following three weeks.
In the reality show, the contestants are faced with a unique opportunity to divide $250,000 equally among themselves. Unlike traditional reality competitions, there are no weekly eliminations. Instead, contestants have the chance to anonymously vote each other out and increase their own share of the prize.
Throughout eight episodes, participants undergo various challenges meant to uncover their true intentions and alliances. These challenges force contestants to confront their deepest insecurities, long-held secrets, and personal histories. Every round gives the contestants an opportunity to gain entry to The Vault, located beneath their luxurious villa. Here, they are presented with two offers—one benefiting themselves individually and another benefiting the group as a whole. Contestants must choose one of the offers, leading to a trust ceremony at the end of each episode where decisions are revealed. The majority vote determines the outcome, with ties resulting in all contestants continuing in the game.
