1. Hidden Figures (Biopic)

Based on true events amalgamated with some dramatization, Hidden Figures is a biographical drama that was released in 2016 and is about three female mathematicians of African-American origin. Taraji Henson plays the role of Katherine Goble Johnson, Octavia Spencer plays the role of Dorothy Vaughan, and Janelle Monae plays the role of Mary Jackson (all the roles played by the actresses are that of actual women who worked for NASA).

2. Avatar: The Way of Water (Sci-Fi)

Directed and co-produced by James Cameroon, the movie is set on a fictional planet Pandora. The movie is a sequel to the 2006 release Avatar. It is one of the most expensive films ever made, with a budget of $350 – 460 million.  This is the highest grossing movie after it grossed at $2.32 billion worldwide.

3. The Lion King (Animated)

Made under the direction of Jon Favreau, The Lion King is a 2019 American musical drama movie that is a production of Walt Disney. Although it is a remake of the 1994 movie, it has become one of the most-watched movies on Disney+. The movie is about a small cub, Simba, who grows far from his pride along with a meerkat and warthog called Timon and Pumba, respectively, but must journey back home and take back his place as the king of the jungle.

4. Black Panther (Superhero)

Featuring Late Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther, the movie is one of the best productions of Marvel Studios. It is a 2018 movie and also has a sequel – Black Panther (Wakanda Forever), which was released in 2022. It is directed by Ryan Coogler, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Joe Robert Cole. 

5. West Side Story (Drama)

West Side Story is an American musical romantic drama that is directed by Steven Spielberg. Ansel Elgort, Rachel Zegler, Ariana DeBose, David Alvarez, and Mike Faist, among others, are the lead cast of this movie. The movie is about how two young people belonging to rival gangs from New York City fall in love. It is said to be a modern representation of the classic Romeo and Juliet. 

6. Aladdin (Fantasy)

Starring Will Smith as the mighty genie, Mena Massoud as Aladdin, and Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine, Aladdin is a beautiful musical fantasy film that follows the story of a street-smart orphan living in Agrabah whose fate leads to him getting a magical lamp in which lives a genie that grants him three wishes. 

7. Sanak (Thriller)

Sanak is a Hindi-language thriller action movie that was released in 2021. It stars Vidyut Jamwal, Rukmini Maitra, and Neha Dhupia in the lead roles. The story is about an MMA trainer who is in the hospital for his wife’s operation but has to take action when the terrorists take several patients hostage, including his wife.
