The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2 Release Date, Cast, Trailer and Everything You Want to Know!!

Although Barbie overpowered The Super Mario Bros. Movie, the worldwide collection of $1.36 billion (to date) is amazing! While Universal and Nintendo are yet to confirm The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2, considering the overwhelming response the first movie has received, we are sure about a second movie of Mario and Luigi. 

What is the Potential Release Date of Super Mario Bros. 2?

Fans of the Italian-American duo Mario and Luigi are aware that the first animated adventure of the pair took a while to make it to the big screen. Even though it will be contingent on the ongoing strikes coming to an end, we can only hope that a sequel won’t take quite as long.

It took about nine years for the first movie to finally hit theatres after it was first rumored, but the wait for the sequel won’t be nearly as long. However, it is still too early to predict with certainty when it will show up.

Even if a sequel is approved this year, it is unlikely that Brooklyn’s plumbing brothers will return to the big screen until 2026.

Who Would Return in the Super Mario Bros. 2?

The Super Mario Bros Movie 2 wouldn’t be the same without the charming Mario brothers duo, so we can anticipate Chris Pratt as Mario and Charlie Day as Luigi again.

Princess Peach’s voice actress, Anya Taylor-Joy, expressed in an exclusive interview how much she adored her role. This hopefully indicates that she will be back for a potential sequel as well.

Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Jack Black as Bowser are additional cast members who are likely to make a comeback.

Since Yoshi’s appearance was hinted at in the post-credit scene, we can also anticipate a significant newcomer for the potential sequel, though it is not yet clear who will voice him.

Fans can also expect a new character – Bowsette,  in the second movie. The character was created by a fan who goes by the name Ayyk92. The character comes to life when Browser steals the Super Crown and puts it on to turn into a beautiful blonde Bowsette. In an exclusive interview, Chris Pratt even revealed that if there is going to be a movie with Bowsette, then Jack Black should voice the character.

As we already discussed, a second movie is yet to be finalized. The trailer will be available only when the movie is ready for release.
