What is the Release Date of Outlander Season 6?
There has been no official premiere date of Outlander season 6 yet, but the new episodes are expected to start airing on Starz in early 2022. A new teaser of season 6 was recently released. During this one-minute teaser, Claire warns Jamie regarding the Revolutionary War. She says: “It’s starting – the storm, the war. It’s almost here.” Moreover, fans can expect a 90 minutes premiere episode as per the Deadline.
On June 1, Sam Heughan tweeted that filming for the 6th season was finished at the end of May. He explained in the same tweet that Outlander season 6 would have 8 episodes, and it will be a much shorter season than the first five seasons that had 12 to 16 episodes each. He also promised that season 7 would be extended, and it is expected to have 16 episodes.
The decision to reduce season 6 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has created havoc on various TV shooting and production schedules.
