Old Guard 2 is all Set to Hit the Screens in 2023 – Know the Release Date, Cast and more

The Immortal warriors will be back soon with new members and even more action. Old Guard 2 is a direct sequel to the 2020 action-fantasy movie Old Guard, which is based on a novel series written by Greg Rucka. Belonging to different time periods of history, these soldiers have healing properties that keep them alive and almost immortal. They like to use their skills to do good for the world, but their secret seems to have been found out by mercenaries who want to exploit it for their own benefit.

When will Old Guard 2 be Released?

On January 27, 2021, Netflix approved a sequel that will allow viewers to witness more of the immortal army. The shooting for Old Guard 2 began in June 2022 in Italy at the Cinecitta Studios. In August 2022, the set caught fire and caused some delays in production. However, the filming was completed in September 2022 in the United Kingdom.

In January 2023, Max Aruj and Ruth Barrett took the task of composing the film. They have replaced Dustin O’Halloran and Volker Bertelmann, the composers of the first Old Guard movie. Netflix is yet to reveal the date for the release of this movie.

The movie has been directed by Victoria Mahoney. The production companies for the movie are Skydance, Denver, and Delilah Productions, and Marc Evans Productions.

We saw limited glimpses of Van Veronica Ngo playing the role of Quynh, but considering how the first installment ended, we are bound to see more of her in Old Guard 2. Uma Thurman and Henry Golding are the new faces in Old Guard 2.

Golding even shared his picture on Instagram from Rome, captioning it, “Rome, you were wonderful… But time to say Ciao! The Old Guard 2 is going to be a banger, can’t wait for you guys to see it.”

What is the Plot of the Movie?

The story of the first movie ended with the team parting their way from Booker and telling him that they would meet him after 100 years. When a drunk Booker goes back to his room, he is confronted by Quynh! Old Guard 2 will resume the story from where they left off.
