Hold your breath, the dead audience for the series, Sex and the City is all set to make its comeback on HBO Max. The new chapter is going to be called “And Just Like That…” The series will be starring Cynthia Nixon, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kristin Davis. Sadly, Kim Cattrall is not going to make a comeback which is one sad deal.
The new series will follow the lives of Carrie Bradshaw (Parker), Miranda Hobbes (Nixon) and Charlotte York (Davis). It will further follow their lives and friendship and relationship during the 50s. It is being anticipated that the show will have ten half-hour long episodes.
The anticipation of the series has been making heads around the internet for a long time. The cutout videos have been shared with different phrases.
In one of the statements, head of the original content at HBO Max, Sarah Aubrey said, “I grew up with these characters, and I can’t wait to see how their story has evolved in this new chapter, with the honesty, poignancy, humour and the beloved City that has always defined them.
Cattrall since the very beginning has been vocal that she is not interested in being part of the franchise’s extension. In one of his statements, the star said, “I May Destroy You is the Sex and the City for now.” He further added, “Girls was the Sex and the City for its moment. I wouldn’t be doing Sex and the City today. Twenty years ago, I knew those people that I was writing about. I understood the time, and I understood the characters and also what needed to be said.”
Currently, HBO is streaming all the seasons of Sex and The City. It would surely be a treat to watch the new season. The show is adapted from the 1997 book of the same name by Candace Bushnell. The series first premiered in 1998 and had six consecutive successful seasons till 2004.
