Steven Knight, the creator of Peaky Blinders, revealed that he had planned to end the series in Season 5 but changed his mind and gave the audience some more of Tommy Shelby. Back in 2018, Knight had told that the team would probably do a Season 7, but then several events that took place in Season 6 led to the end of the series.
Like, the death of Aunt Polly (Helen McCrory), which caused a shift in events of the script. Moreover, the entire cast of Peaky Blinders has received several lucrative offers in Hollywood.
Knight also told in an interview that the death of Aunt Polly was ‘the end of the beginning’. Let’s end the beginning, then let’s do the film. And then let’s see where we go in terms of spin-offs,” he added.
Peaky Blinders Movie on the Cards
Knight has already revealed that a movie is in play that would, maybe, revolve around World War II. Earlier, he had said that the show’s timeline would run from the end of World War I to the starting of World War II, but the Season 6 script closed on The Garrison Pub, where they are still five years before World War II was declared in 1934 by Neville Chamberlain.
In 2021, Knight revealed in one of his interviews that he had always planned to end Peaky Blinders with a movie, and currently, the movie already seems to be set to go into production in 2023. The movie will be set and shot in Birmingham, and the movie would be a proper ending for Peaky Blinders, he added.
Considering that the production schedule for Peaky Blinders will be in traditional Hollywood style, the shooting and the post-production would probably be over by 2023 or 2024, and the movie would hit the big screens in late 2024 or the beginning of 2025. Fans can also expect spin-offs for Peaky Blinders till the movie is released. Keep visiting our website to stay updated with more on Peaky Blinders.
