Luther is a psychological crime thriller series that debuted on BBC One in May 2010 and ran for five seasons. The series finale was aired in January 2019. In Luther, Idris Elba played DCI John Luther, and Ruth Wilson as Alice Morgan. DCI John Luther was imprisoned at the end of the series’ final season. 

Luther (Idris Elba) is known for his unconventional but successful techniques in catching the killers. Which ultimately leads to his detention. The Netflix movie Luther: The Fallen Sun continues where the previous season left off.

Luther series earned Elba a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Television Series, among other nominations and awards. 

Jamie Payne is the film’s director. Payne is most known for directing films like The Alienist, Outlander, and New Amsterdam, among others. 

Neil Cross wrote the script. He has written books including Luther: The Calling, Captured, and Always the Sun.

Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, Idris Elba, Neil Cross, and David Ready are the producers of Luther: The Fallen Sun.

An evil serial killer terrorizes London in Luther: The Fallen Sun, while brilliant but disgraced investigator John Luther (Idris Elba) is imprisoned. 

Luther makes the decision to escape prison to complete the task using any means required because he is haunted by his failure to apprehend the cyber psychopath who is now taunting him.

Netflix hasn’t released a full trailer for Luther: The Fallen Sun just yet, the streamer has now given us a quick tease, posted to their social channels alongside the announcement of the release date.

In the footage, Elba’s character can be seen in the shadows, before his voiceover says: “Something’s coming“. 

Another voice then appears to say “Do you see me now?”. But who is it? And what does it all mean?

We will just have to wait until March 10 to find out the answers to these questions.
