David Harbour Returns in ‘We Have a Ghost’: Everything You Need to Know About Supernatural Comedy

David Harbour seems to be having a lot of success portraying fanciful characters, from a swashbuckling Santa in Violent Night to a welcoming local ghost in We Have a Ghost. We can’t wait to see the Stranger Things actor in his new role as the main ghost named Ernest in the upcoming horror comedy.

We have a Ghost, a film written and directed by Christopher Landon and starring Anthony Mackie and Jennifer Coolidge among many others, is based on the short tale Ernest by Geoff Manaugh.

The two-and-a-half-minute trailer summarizes the main plot points of the film, such as the introduction of the main characters and how they meet Ernest. 

Ernest, played by Harbour, appears to be a straightforward ghost confined in the attic who, rather than running after people, appears to be afraid of them. Ernest’s inability to communicate is also revealed in the trailer, adding to the character’s fascination.

The Plot of We Have a Ghost?

When the Presley family moves into a new house, the plot of the movie really gets going. Kevin, one of their children, finds a ghost in the attic. Instead of being terrified, he records the ghost trying to frighten him and uploads the video to YouTube. It immediately becomes popular. 

When the parents learn about the ghost, they don’t take the information well, but when the father meets Ernest, he adopts his son’s strategy and makes this finding into trending web material. Millions of people watch the videos, which garner attention from the government as well. 

The CIA would soon show up at their home with a complete team to look for Ernest. Kevin and Ernest become friends in the meantime, and Kevin finds out that the mute ghost who now resides in their attic was once a family man who lived in the same house, died there, and then began to haunt the place. 

Kevin makes the decision to look into Ernest’s passing and learn what happened to him and his family. Kevin, his family, and friends now have to figure out how to save the amiable ghost and uncover the truth with the CIA on their tail.
