Mission Impossible 8: Dead Reckoning Part 2 (2024) Release Date, Cast, Story and Everything we Know so Far

Get ready for the much-awaited release of Mission: Impossible 8, which is coming to cinemas next year. The good news for the fans of the franchise is this installment continues the thrilling story left unresolved in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One.

Officially titled Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two, the film will have Tom Cruise as the iconic Ethan Hunt. While it is suggested that this mission could potentially be Ethan’s final one, writer/director Chris McQuarrie remains uncertain about the conclusion of the series.

What we can confirm is that Mission: Impossible 8 will provide the much-awaited resolution to the epic two-part storyline initiated in Dead Reckoning Part One. Will Ethan and his IMF team save the world? The odds seem to be in their favor.

Release Date of Mission Impossible 8?

The team of Mission Impossible 8 faced a few hurdles, which caused the release date to be moved a couple of times. Considering there will not be any more delays, the date is set as June 28, 2024. 

Cast of Mission Impossible 8

Tom Cruise will, of course, be back as Ethan Hunt. However, since Mission: Impossible 7 saw some casualties where Ilsa Faust, played by Rebecca Ferguson, was killed by Gabriel, played by Esai Morales – we would be seeing her in this movie. There may be a possibility that she is alive, but that is for the makers to decide whether or not they would like to surprise their audience.

Some new faces in this movie are Lucy Tulugarjuk, Mark Gatiss, Janet McTeer, Charles Parnell and Hannah Waddingham. We are unaware of the roles they are playing in the movie. 

What is the Plot of the Movie?

In Dead Reckoning, Gabriel may be the primary antagonist, but the true threat lies with an all-powerful AI known as the “entity.” This entity possesses the ability to manipulate digital data and has already infiltrated the global intelligence network, granting its controller immense control over the world.

In Mission: Impossible 8, Ethan Hunt aims to find the Sevastopol, a Russian sub-holding the source code of an all-powerful rogue AI called the entity. Ethan intends to destroy the entity, but he must contend with Gabriel, who knows the sub’s location and is under the entity’s influence.
