Love Island 2023 Season 9 Couples, Host, Cast, Filming Location and Everything You need to Know

Love Island 2023 Season 9 has already been telecast on January 16, 2022. Laura Whitmore, who hosted three seasons of the show, has been replaced by Maya Jama. Love Island 2023 is being shot in Cape Town this year. Ten contestants will be taking part in this show.

The makers made the first trailer for this series available on December 26, 2022. It was a five-second clip showing a spinning, bejeweled pink velvet mechanical bull. A full-length trailer was released on January 1, 2023, where we saw Maya Jama, the hostess for the show, riding the bull and speaking out the tagline, “It’s time to grab love by the horns, I’m ready, are you?”.

The show is telecast on ITV2 and ITVX. The names of the islanders were announced just a week before the release of the show on January 9, 2023. This is also the first time the show has a partially-sighted contestant – Ron Hall sustained an eye injury while playing football when he was just 8. He now works as a financial advisor. On January 12, the makers revealed that the public would decide on the first “bombshell” of the series. Viewers were allowed to vote and choose between Ellie Spence, a business development executive who hails from Norwich, and Tom Clare, a semi-professional footballer from Barnsley.

In the first week of the show, Anna-May, Lana, Haris, Kai, Olivia, Ron, Tanya, Tanyel, Shaq, Tom, and Will entered the villa. On the same day, once the boys entered the villa, the girls were asked to select a boy to pair up with.
