Performances of the Cast Season 1
With the maximum screen space, Aparshakti Khurana as Binod Das has done justice to his role. Displaying a range of emotions, Khurana has enacted his character perfectly – he can be humble for his master but he is also ferocious when he is paving his way to success.
Prosenjit Chatterjee as Srikant Roy is the vivacious superstar from the past and a studio owner who does whatever it takes to make movies just the way he likes.
Wamiqa Gabbi as Niloufer Qureshi makes her screen presence a notable one. Even with the limited screen presence, she has a sparkling and dynamic attitude that wins your heart.
Sidhant Gupta playing the role of Jay Khanna, who lives in a refugee camp, garners our praise for displaying a rich man’s attitude. We wish he was given some more screen time!
Aditi Rao Hydari as Sumitra Kumari gave the impression that she would have a major role to play when she is revealed to be a superstar. However, she is soon side-tracked from the main narrative and returns for inconspicuous scenes.
Ram Kapoor, as Shamsher Singh Walia, the financer of movies, somewhat overdoes his part with the excessive use of cuss words. Although the fact that he understands his character cannot be denied, he does have a lot of potentials which seems to have been missing in Jubilee.
Shweta Basu Prasad as Ratna Da looks gorgeous and definitely deserves more lines.
Our Verdict
The series begins quite slowly and takes almost a couple of episodes to reveal the characters, and yet the connectivity is missing. But, once you sit through the first two episodes, the plot gets interesting and keeps you glued to the screen. Jubilee is indeed a wonderful creation that shows the truth behind the cameras. It is definitely a watch, provided you wade through the first two episodes.
