Fantasy Island: Reboot Has Not Been Renewed for Season 3

After airing for two seasons, Fox TV has decided to cancel Fantasy Island: Reboot. The Season 2 finale telecast on May 8 will be considered the finale for this series. Fox TV aired eight dramas this season. Unfortunately, Fantasy Island ranked last in total audience views. It received an average of 2.3 million views and a demo rating of 0.3.

Fox on Why Fantasy Island Has Been Discontinued

Fox released a statement informing the audience about discontinuing the series. 

“We were very pleased with Fantasy Island’s fun and escapist creative, which we had hoped would gain strong traction among viewers. Sony Pictures Television is an important partner of ours, and we look forward to continuing to work with them on ‘Accused,’ ‘Alert: Missing Persons Unit,’ ‘Doc’ and the upcoming animated series Universal Basic Guys/Hoagie Bros,” Fox said in their statement.

The Original Fantasy Island and Fantasy Island: Reboot

The series was an original continuation of Fantasy Island that aired from 1977 to 1984. It resumed in 2021 and telecasted 10 episodes in the first season between August and December. Season 2 premiered this year in month of January and lasted recently till May.

Fantasy Island: Reboot, like its original series, is about an island where all your fantasies come true. However, everything doesn’t happen as it should; instead, the fantasies turn into nightmares. If the guests on the island wish to escape, then they need to solve the mystery of the island.

Fantasy Island: Reboot also had a similar story and even the role of Mr. Roarke from the 1977 Fantasy Island was taken over by one of his grandniece Roselyn Sanchez, who plays Elena Roarke. The Co-host of Elena in the series is Kiara Barnes, who plays Ruby Akuda. Elena’s love interest Javier in the series, is played by John Gabriel Rodriguez, who is the head of transportation on the Fantasy Island.
