Together they have a daughter Joy. All miseries and problems come to Evelyn together as her laundromat is about to be audited, her demanding grandfather is about to visit them soon, her daughter comes out as gay, and her husband is trying to give her a divorce. Suddenly, things go haywire as her husband’s body is possessed by Alpha-Waymond, who is a version of Waymond from the Alphaverse. What is Alphaverse? What does Evelyn have to do with this universe? Unexpectedly, the movie was hurled into the limelight in the 2023 95th Oscar Night. Seven of the 11 Oscar nominations for the film were successful, with Michelle Yeoh being the first Asian to win the best actress prize.
