Big Brother 25: Jag Bains, An American Sikh, Makes History

The iconic American reality show Big Brother came to an end, with competitor Jag Bains making history as the first Sikh American of Indian descent to win the competition.

After a difficult 100-day season, 25-year-old Washingtonian entrepreneur Jag Bains won the title of Big Brother 25. Bains, a trucking company owner, triumphed over challengers Matt Klotz, a Deaflympics swimmer from Louisiana, and Bowie Jane Ball, a 46-year-old Australian DJ and attorney.

Jag collaborated closely with Matt and Bowie Jane throughout most of the game. After moving into the renowned house, he and Matt became best friends. Early in the game, Jag and Matt forged a “bromance” and the “Minutemen” alliance. Not only did they dominate the Big Brother game, but they also supported each other throughout. So much so that, with his secret Power of Invincibility, Matt overrode a unanimous vote to save Jag. As the game came to a close, the two invited Bowie Jane to join them in the three-person group known as “The Mafia.”

Jag Holds The Record For Most Veto Wins In One Season

Jag broke a show record while building his resume on Big Brother. Jag has won the most Power of Veto games in a single season among Big Brother contestants. With six veto victories, Michael Bruner of Big Brother 24 had the record before Jag. Michael broke Janelle Pierzina’s record from Big Brother last summer. Once she won five Power of Veto competitions during season 7, Janelle, who participated in the show four times, kept the title for a long time. Jag now has seven veto victories this season, defeating Janelle and Michael.

Jag won his first Power of Veto match in the third week of the competition. Additionally, this was the first time Jag had found himself sitting on the block and having to defend himself. Jag faced against Cameron, the other nominee, Head of Household Felicia, and Izzy Gleicher, the son of Survivor icon Cirie Fields, in the “Cock-a-Doodle Zoom” challenge.

Intense Battles and Double Evictions: Jag’s Winning Streak

Jag remained low-key until his second veto victory in week seven. Jag was neither nominated nor appointed as Head of Household this time. He was chosen at random to participate in the veto contest. This week’s Power of Veto competition was a spin on the classic Big Brother competition “Slippery Slope” named “Sweaty Scrimmage.” Although he was not on the ballot, Jag pushed for the veto. He eventually used it to get Cory Wurtenburger off the market. As a result, Jag assisted Jared in backdooring Cameron.

Jag gained his third Power of Veto three weeks later. Upon securing the veto, he was neither nominated nor in authority. This week, the “Scrambleverse” brought together two renowned Big Brother contests, Zingbot and OTEV, to choose who would win the Power of Veto. Jag used his ability once more, this time to keep Felicia safe. Cameron managed to win his way back into the game, and as a result, Head of Household Bowie Jane was able to backdoor him a second time.

Jag won every Power of Veto that remained for the season after his victory in week 10, except the Power of Veto on the second double eviction. The next week, he won his fourth Power of Veto, secretly holding the position of Head of Household. Even though it was meant to be a secret victory, the whole house eventually discovered Jag’s dominance. Due to two Power of Vetoes winning this week, it was distinct. He and Blue Kim used their vetoes, resulting in Jag nominating showmance duo America and Cory. Ultimately, Cory was sent to the jury house and given an eviction.

Jag gained his sixth Power of Veto the following week and was once again the Head of Household. The competition’s name this week was “Embarrassing Expedition.” Due to the double eviction that same week, Jag lost the second Power of Veto challenge, but he did win the next week. The name of this intense battle was “Swamp Slasher.” Jag had to carefully navigate a pool of water and arrange bricks on a floating plate, which tested his patience.

The Road to Victory: Jag’s Last Hurdle as Head of Household

The last Power of Veto, perhaps the most significant Big Brother competition of the season, was won by Jag the next week. By achieving this, Jag guaranteed his place in the final three and the opportunity to choose between the two nominees, Matt and Felicia, to join him and Bowie Jane. Jag took days to consider his options before deciding to stick with his Minutemen coalition, even if he could not defeat his rival. Jag must now win the last Head of Household match to guarantee a place in the final two.
