American Primeval: A Netflix Limited Series About American West – Know the Release Date, Cast and Plot

Netflix always tries to keep its platform updated with good content to keep the audience engaged. To do so, it is always on the look for gifted talent. In one of the ‘Overall Deals’ with creators and studios, they have brought together two creators to create a collaboration between – Grand Electric which is helmed by Eric Newman, and Film 44, a production company helmed by Peter Berg. Together they would be creating a limited series for the platform – Berg will be responsible for the direction while Newman will be producing the series.

While Berg and Newman have revealed their upcoming series in one of their interviews, where they thanked Netflix for trusting them with this opportunity, Netflix is yet to make an official announcement.

What is the Plot of American Primeval?

Netflix hasn’t made anything official about the series, but the makers have given us a small insight into what to expect – it will be a limited series comprising 6 episodes. They also revealed that it is an adventurous show that unveils how the American West was born amidst clashes of religions, cultures, and communities as men and women skirmish amongst each other and even die to take control of this newly founded world, believing the land is their destiny.

It unveils a story of sacrifice that one must be ready to pay if they choose to embrace the life of an untamed and unruly wilderness.

We know very little of the story, but it is about a woman named Sara who is traveling with her son to the West, and the two join a Mormon Caravan that was heading in the same direction. However, a gory conflict flares up between the Native Americans and those who want to claim the land for themselves.

Cast of American Primeval

In an initial announcement by the makers on December 6, it was revealed that Taylor Kitsch would be playing the lead role in this series. Kitsch will play the role of Isaac, a traumatized man who is haunted by his demons from the past and struggles to overcome them and continue living in this brutal world. We are yet to learn about the other cast of this series.

When Will American Primeval Premier on Netflix?

According to sources, the series will begin filming in February 2023 in New Mexico, United States.
