American Idol 2024 Premiere Date, Judges, Trailer and How to Watch the Season 22

A new season of the singing reality series American Idol is around the corner. The formal announcement and the show date have been eagerly anticipated by many. The wait is finally over! The show is set to premiere on February 18, 2024. Judges Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, and Katy Perry announced the upcoming season’s premiere date on social media. Fans look forward to seeing the new competitors compete to show off their skills and possibly land a contract.

Here’s everything we know about the upcoming season of American Idol. 

American Idol Premiere Date

The show will return on February 18, 2024, to ABC for its seventh season, or season 22 altogether. It will return to its usual time slot, 8 p.m. ET Sunday nights on ABC.

American Idol season 22 judges are Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan, with Ryan Seacrest as a host. 

American Idol 2024 Audition

American Idol is still searching for the next singing sensation! If you will be at least 15 years old by February 15, 2024, and believe you are capable of showing your talent to the world, join the “Idol Across America” virtual audition tour.

With the return of “Idol Across America,” auditions begin on Wednesday, August 2. Anyone interested in auditioning could present their skills in person to an American Idol producer from anywhere in the country on any scheduled audition date, with the hope of moving on to the competition’s judge audition round. 

Singers may now audition by genre instead of city for the first time. Eventually, to win their golden tickets to Hollywood, contestants can audition in front of Lionel, Katy, and Luke, the American Idol judges.

American Idol 2024: Where Can I Watch It?

All episodes will be available on Hulu the day after they broadcast on ABC. The show will screen the auditions for a few weeks as usual, and then it will go on to Hollywood Week.
